Lou Projects: website build and local SEO for a sustainable home builder

How JWWD built the website for an award-winning Central Coast builder of healthy, high-performance homes, and grows its search presence suburb by suburb.

The brief

Lou Projects builds high-end architectural homes and pre-designed sustainable homes on the NSW Central Coast. What sets the work apart is mostly invisible once the walls are up: an airtight building envelope, careful insulation, and fresh, filtered ventilation.

The website needed to explain that clearly, show finished and current projects properly, and then help Lou Projects compete for the searches people use when they’re looking for a builder in their own suburb.

What we built

JWWD built the Lou Projects website in WordPress from a page-by-page design by Matilda Wilson, then moved on to ongoing SEO and content:

  • Custom Homes: what the team does, its ethos, and current and completed projects on a consistent project template with photos and video.
  • Lou Homes: a separate section for the pre-designed range, explaining how it works and showing the designs.
  • Knowledge Hub: FAQs, a blog, an owner’s column and media, so the thinking behind the builds is easy to find.

Suburb pages that say something

Builders often publish location pages that only swap the suburb name. We took a different approach. Lou Projects now has a Central Coast hub page and more than 20 suburb pages, from Killcare and Avoca Beach to Wyong and Dooralong.

Each page explains how the Lou Projects approach applies to that place. In Terrigal, that means salt air, strong coastal sun and ocean views. In Dooralong, it means acreage blocks, valley microclimates and wide temperature swings. Every page has its own local FAQs, search title and description, and links back to the hub.

The later batches were deployed with a script that runs a dry run first and updates existing pages instead of creating duplicates, so the metadata stays consistent across every page.

Ongoing SEO and content

  • Keyword research to decide which suburbs and topics to tackle first.
  • Search titles that match intent. The homepage title and description were rewritten around how people actually search for sustainable and eco builders.
  • Regular content: award wins, podcast appearances and explainers such as heat recovery ventilation, with the blog recategorised so readers can find related posts.
  • Technical fixes: minified scripts and styles, alt text, crawl and indexing issues.

The result

A site that does justice to the craft behind each home, and a growing network of pages that puts Lou Projects in front of people planning to build across the Central Coast. Built and looked after by JWWD.
